Shuddh Desi Romance Music Review

Shuddh Desi Romance Music

Music Direction : Sachin-Jigar
Lyrics :

What I expected? : Ever since 'Gulabi' released, the expectations were pretty high. Romance, quality and freshness.

Tere Mere Beech Mein stands justified to the 'fresh' expectations, Mohit and Sunidhi Chauhan aces the track while the tune is sufficiently romantic as well as quirky. The westernized arrangements makes things look even better! #Repeat
Gulabi can be readily recognized somewhere in between the A R Rahman-Amit Trivedi zone, an amazingly perky and lovely tune with Jigar coming up with his career best singing act along with Priya Panchal! The arrangements, especially the repetitive folksy interludes are seriously addictive! #MustHear #Repeat
Chanchal Mann scores at everything, the highly energetic background, Divya Kumar's one-man-show-stealer-show and the quirky lyrics. Can't help shaking your head! #Repeat
Title song cannot get any more crazy, the enchanting harmonim-dholak mix sandwiched between the highly spirited Benny Dayal-Shalmali Kholgade vocals and a purely desi dance tune! #Repeat
Mujhe Kiss Kar Sakte Ho is a vehemently brilliant instrumental, the slow buildup and the absolutely lovable middle portions have a strongly emotional feel! #Repeat
Love in Jaipur has Priya Panchal whispering Rajasthani, with an external coating of exotic desi arrangements! #Repeat
Tez Waala Attraction is basically Chahchal mann interludes rehashed, nothing much. Quirky BTW.
Boyfriend Banogey is again Gulabi interlude presented in a different avatar, charming!
Bhanwara Ma Bhatke has an impressive pedestrian lineup of instruments, interesting!

Verdict : Plain simply, all the songs work, to a large extent. Then again, majority are instrumentals with short running span so commercial prospects cannot be judged. The four original songs are rock-solid, will easily feature among Sachin-Jigars best works and the album on the whole is a must hear for them! The duo have successfully managed to fit the essence of Rajasthan into a modern frame! Very Good work, the four songs, gonna be on my playlist for the coming months!

Must Hears! : Gulabi, Tere mere beech

Ramaiya Vastavaiya Music Review

Ramaiya Vastavaiya Music
Music Direction : Sachin-Jigar
Lyrics : Mayur Puri, Priya Panchal

What I expected? : Competent romantic stuff from Sachin-Jigar

Jeene Laga Hoon, even with the surprisingly heard before tune and retro feel, rides high on Atif Aslam's and Shreya Ghoshal's strong vocals giving an adequately engaging melody!
Bairiyaa has the singing duo again, singing a fairly fervid tune. Good effort but doesn't stay in one's mind.
Peecha Chuute has Mohit Chauhan as its high point as well as the strikingly perky setup! Good Hear! #Repeat
Rang Jo Lagyo is easily the best among the lot, the anthem-ish romantic tune goes perfectly in sync with Atif's voice, where he belts occasionally, with Shreya as good as ever! #Repeat!
Hip hop Pammi and Jhaadoo Ki Jhappi doesn't click, the former being a painstaking rehash of the gazillion Punjabi dance tracks we've already heard, and the later an all-familiar item number. Mika doesn't help in both. Just for the screen, situational songs.

Verdict : A good album with occasional good melodies and cliched dance tracks. Scores for the first four songs!

Must Hears! : Rang Jo, Jeene Lagaa, Peecha Chute

Go Goa Gone Music Review

Go Goa Gone Music
Music Direction : Sachin-Jigar
Lyrics : Amitabh Bhattacharya

What I expected? : Competent fun stuff from Sachin-Jigar who constantly delivers.

Slowly Slowly by Jigar and Talia Bentson is groovy enough to hold your attention with the wonderfully laid addictive rhythm and beats, perfect 'on the floor track'. Good hear!
Khoon Choosele is real crazy, insanely funny and vehemently quirky track on the "bloody Monday" where the heavy lift off comes from Amitabh Bhattacharya's hugely imaginative lyrics and the energetic singing departement!(Arjun Kanungo,Sachin & Priya Panchaal) #Repeat.
Babaji Ki Booty can be perceived in any way, situational or comic or a mere filler, but just one thing that  this Anand Tiwari,Sachin & Jigar Saraiya sung track is sufficiently funny to keep you hooked till the end.
Khushamdeed is cakewalk for a singer like Shreya Ghoshal, simple, low pitch, serene guitar backed melody, a good hear alright for the positive vibe it emits!
I Keel Dead Peepul has perfect arrangements and DJing with all the voice overs mixed together pretty well.

Verdict : Go Goa Gone delivers as expected, Sachin-Jigar in their usual form comes up with two extremely addictive tracks in an album where the production quality shines over everything! This movie will have real good music!

Must Hears! : Slowly Slowly, Khoon Choosele

Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Music Review

Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Music
Music Direction : Sachin-Jigar
Lyrics : Mayur Puri

What I expected? : All songs were released before even I started speculating.

Hai Na by Atif Aslam and Priya Panchal is quite likable not for Atif's casual, lazy singing. Romantic rock track, worth a hear.
Dil Na jaane Kyun by Atif Aslam and Anushka Manchanda is a powerhouse of sound engineering techniques mixed with a peppy tune and energetic singing,(that doesn't mean good, Atif still sounds stale) resulting in something that might work on screen.
Abhija mere Mehermaan is mesmerizing, tailor made romantic track for Atif Aslam, with just the right urbane arrangements. Haunting and a good hear!
Thoda Thoda is a cool light hearted melody, sung aptly by Shreya Ghoshal and Sachin, worth repeated hears. Composers have actually shown justice to the song by NOT letting Atif sing this one, which could have turned it into a vocal gimmick.
Mashup was fun, usual DJ sound circus.

Verdict : JKLS soundtrack has delivered just what was expected and nothing more. Couple of feel good tracks, most of which relies on the arrangements rather than the composition. Average one I'd say, but worth a try!

Must Hears! : Thoda Thoda

ABCD : Any Body Can Dance Music Review

ABCD : Any Body Can Dance Music
Music Direction : Sachin-Jigar
Lyrics : Mayur Puri

What I expected? : From Sachin-Jigar, a complete techno urbane dance package.

Shabhu Sutaya by Shankar Mahadevan and Vishal Dadlani is wonderfully arranged and fabulously sung Ganesh-tribute devotional track which is quite easy on the ears and thus giving a good hear!
Bezubaan is scintillating, the moody soulful Mohit Chauhan and the energetic Priya Panchal and Deane who does all the raps infused into the rightly addictive dance beats with strong lyrics convert the song into a great hear!
Psycho Re by Mika Singh and Udit Narayan is kick-ass, terrifically addictive Tamil-'deppankuth' track where the plus point lies in the arrangements which are insanely fuuny.! Good hear!
Man Basiyo Saanwariyo showcases Anushka Manchanda in brilliant form, where she sings her heart out in the rock-fusion track, dazzlingly arranged! Good hear! Must be great on screen!
Chandu ki Girlfriend has again arrangements flying over expectations, what with the gully song sung aptly by Raman Mahadevan and mixed into a hell lot of imaginative sounds! Addictive, good hear!
Duhaai has an ingenious start with powerful vocals by Madhav Krishna before it ventures into the catchy hard rock-fusion, complete with strong lyrics and god arrangements! Good hear!
Sorry Sorry by Jigar is situational yet amazingly catchy filled with booming beats and quirky lyrics. Something we must wait out to watch out on screen, good hear!
Kar Ja Re Ya Mar Ja Re sung by Suraj Jagan is such a blasting mix of sounds, powerful vocals and beats, that you tend to mess up the repeat button.! Great hear!
Sadda Dil Vi Tu(Ga Ga Ga Ganpati) throws a flair bit of surprise, one thing it has been sung by Hard Kaur and another thing is the unconventional choice of arrangements and the placing of the track. Devotional, yet in every way urbane, this thing is wicked! Great hear!

Verdict : ABCD is definitely out-of-the-box, crossing all expectations still delivering a package so brilliantly done. In a situation where we expected some hard hitting techno-rock tracks, Sachin-Jigar amazes us by the sheer choice of unconventional arrangements which mesmerizes in a great deal! ABCD may not be a collector's item, but it definitely qualifies as one of the better soundtracks of the year, tailor made for the movie! Kudos to Sachin-Jigar for coming up with such varied-genre soundtrack, it takes real hardwork and creativity so produce something like this! Excellent work!

Kya Super Kool Hain Hum Music Review

Kya Super Kool Hain Hum Music
Music Direction:   Sachin-Jigar, Meet Bros.Anjaan & Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Lyricist:    Mayur Puri (Song # 1) & Kumaar (Song # 2, 3, 4, 5)

What to expect : Looking from the perspective of the movie, some cool modern peppy tracks.

Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya - Vishal Dadlani. Music By Sachin Jigar. Starts off with cool club beats. A peppy fun song with slight romantic outlook. Vishal gives that rock-ish rendition which is grt! Catches your attention. Good One!
Remix is almost the same with slight change in arrangements(beats with more bass). Good.

Shirt Da Button - Sonu Nigam & Anjjan - Meet Bros. Music by Meet Bros. Sonu Nigam is soulful behind the mike for this lovely romantic Qawaali. Orchestration is impressive! Weird lyrics, and song has a heard before feel(Mere dil bhi kitna pagal?), but overall manages to be a good song which asks repeat hearing. Good one!

Shirt Da Button (Version 2) - Kailash Kher & Meet Bros. Anjaan. A bit more modern but intelligent arrangements. This one catches your attention, mostly because of Kailash's topnotch singing with a classical touch which suits the Qawaali setup and the difference in mood. Liked this version more. Its sad and nostalgic. Grt hear!

Hum Toh Hain Cappuccino (U.P. - Bihar Lootne) - Sukhwinder Singh, Daler Mehndi, Riteish Deshmukh & Swaroop. Music By Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Long time since SEL has done a song in Bollywood. Anyway this is not an original, rather a rehash of their own song, the once highly popular 'Mein Aayi hoon UP Bihar Lootne' (Courtesy : Shilpa Shetty :P). Needless to say the song is instantly catchy, with SEL giving an extra coating in the form of  'Hum Toh Hain Cappuccino'. Sukhwinder is first class in rendition and the song works for multiple reasons. The excellent singing, the 'nach le' mood created by the beats and the outstanding orchestration. Its more rich and has that namkeen feel to it! Loved the change of mood in the middle. Waiting to watch this on video.Grt hear!!

Volume High Karle - Neeraj Shridhar. Music by Meet Bros.Mr Shridhar gets his usual club dance song which he sings effortlessly, but the song asks for repeat in vain. Original itself seems like a remix with so much things added together that nothing is clear. Uninspiring tune. Didn't work for me. Remix is added.

Verdict : Except for Volume High Karke, the rest songs work big tym. Hum Toh Hai has the potential to become a chartbuster(again!) if promoted well. The composers have done a good job. Its Kool! Go for it!
