Phata Poster Nikhla Hero Music Review

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero Music
Music Direction : Pritam Chakraborty
Lyrics : Irshad Kamil

What I expected? : Commercial, non-stop Pritam!

Tu Mere Al Bagal is routine yet addictive Mika-Pritam combo, something on the lines of 'Pungi', less interesting arrangements but. Enjoyable!
Mein Rang Shrabaton ka's sweety-catchy melodious tune is let down by Atif Aslam's average, heavily auto tuned vocals, while Chinmayi is the only saving grace.
Mein Rang Sharbaton(reprise) scores by leaps and bounds for the one reason Arijit Singh is singing it, and man, he makes it simply gorgeous! How I wish the original version were sung by him! #Repeat
Hey Mr. DJ has Benny Dayal, Shefali Alvares, and Shalmali Kholgade on fire, quite exotic techno dance track replete with spritely arrangements!
Mere Bina Tu gets to the mesmerizing level, the simple soft rock arrangements merged with the pitch perfect singing of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Harshdeep Kaur makes it a stunning listen! #Must Hear #Repeat
Dhating Naach will literally put your legs on fire! An amazingly fast tempoed desi dance track, the energy level with which Nakash Azi and Neha Kakkad sings it is quite remarkable! #Repeat
Janam Janam's heartfelt lyrics are justified by Atif Aslam's soulful, beautiful vocals which demands multiple listens and the same can be said for Sunidhi Chauhan's reprise version, where she shines from top to bottom with her soft, vehement singing act! #Repeat

Verdict : Phata Poster NH comes with strong musical elements, which are bright and refreshing throughout, slight flaws aside! Pritam switches his commercial, yet Very Good mode ON!

Must Hears! : Mein Rang(Reprise), Mere Bina Tu, Janam Janam(both versions)

I Love NY Music Review

I Love NY Music
Music : Pritam, Falak & R.D.Burman
Lyrics : Mayur Puri, Sayeed Quadri & Falak Shabbir

What I expected? : Less expectations, for a movie like this.

Gud Naal Ishq Mitha is thankfully not routine, essentially catchy Punjabi trance remade from Bally Sagoo's original, where Tochi Raina edges over Sukhwinder Singh in respective versions. Good hear!
Aao Na is pleasant but ordinary with Sonu Nigam sounding better than the squeaky Tulsi Kumar. Worth a hear.
Judaai by Falak Shabbir had been doing rounds on the net for over two years, and with slightly better arrangements, the song do impress mainly due to the slow drawling tune and Falak's addictive vocals! Good hear! #Repeat
Halki Halki  by Shaan and Tulsi Kumar is situational and plain outdated with Shaan being the only saving grace in the happily-dance-around composition.
Aaja Meri Jaan has Pancham da's haunting and sublime composition being remade and unmistakably crooned by Mauli Dave. Grt hear!
Every song has a remix each which I skipped.

Verdict : I Love New York has essentially feel good music, frankly a time pass album, the ones which comes and goes with couple of engaging tracks. Now with lesser shelf life, I'd say due to Pritam's laziness, falls into average in overall. Worth a try.

Must Hears! : Judaai, Gud Naal, Aaja Meri

Rush Music Review

Rush Music

Music Director : Pritam Chakraborty
Lyrics : Ashish Pandit, Kumaar, Sayeed Quadri & Hard Kaur

What I expected? : Was immersed in JTHJ so nothing much.

Chup Chup Ke (Film Version) by Ash King, Muazzam & Rizwan Ali Khan seems like many of Pritam's own works mixed together, especially Rabba, I love you and Pee Loon. Nice hear but nothing special.
Chup Chup Ke by Shaan , Muazzam Beg & Rizwan Ali Khan is a better hear mainly due to good rendition by Shaan.
Fukraa by Jazzy and Hard Kaur turns out to be a Punjabi R&B track, somewhat catchy but not much engaging.
Mumkin sung by Anupam Amod and Tulsi Kumar works due to Anupam's vocals which is quite fresh  in front of Tulsi's pale singing. Nice melody and a good hear!
O Re Khuda by Adnan Sami and Javed Bashir is just lovable with Javed's sufi rendition mixed with Adnan's 'Darling' infused singing crafted upon a pretty strong melody giving us a good hear!
Rab Ka Junnon by Inderpreet Singh, hard rock crap. Not appealing to me.
Hote Hote by Ash King and Hard Kaur, partly engaging club song with heavy beats.

Verdict : Average work from Pritam. Some songs may get popular due to good promotions.

Cocktail Music Review

 Cocktail Music
 Music Direction : Pritam Chakraborty

Tumhi Ho Bandhu - Neeraj Shridhar & Kavita Seth. Surprisingly delightful peppy song. Kavitha Seth's voice stands out. Its hard to drive out of your head the phrase 'tumhi ho bandhu sakha tumhi' sung aptly by Neeraj even if you have heard the song only once. Arrangements are modern and electric still okay but the songs gonna be a chartbuster!! Grt hear!!
Daaru Desi - Benny Dayal & Shalmali Kholgade. Another modern and funny and lazy song. Breezy singing by Benny Dayal and Shalmali. This is too comes with a terrificly simple and catchy tune. Find yourself singing it in the middle of something. It doesn't makes you dance, but you'll sway to the music. Get a fresh feel after hearing this. Grt hear!!
Yaariyan - Mohan Kanan & Shilpa Rao. Soft rock romantic song. Nice tune. Painful singing by Mohan. It just holds your attention as Pritam takes you to the 'Life in a Metro' zone. Shilpa gives a sufi edge. Hear it and forget everything. Just let it flow... More than impressive!!
Yaariyan (Reprise) - Sunidhi Chauhan & Arijit Singh. Starts with piano and moves slowly in an unplugged mode. Sunidhi is first class in rendition.! The feel she puts in is unmatched. Arjit Singh gives the same style singing he gave in Agent Vinod. Soulful and high pitched humming. Superb!
Second Hand Jawaani - Miss Pooja, Neha Kakkar & Nakkash Aziz. This is pure desi at core. Dholak beats with funny lyrics and suited slow singing. Find yourself shaking your head.! Have to watch out for the video. Good one!
Tera Naam Japdi Phiran - Javed Bashir, Nikhil Dsouza & Shefali. Club song and DJ beats. Javed's singing is but Indian with the Punjabi-infused lyrics providing the same feel. Nikhil and Shefali give the club singing. So kind of R&B feel. Good one!
Tera Naam Japdi Phiran (Remix) - Javed Bashir, Nikhil & Shefali. Well a good remix but nothing innovative. Heard before arrangements.
Luttna (Saif Ul Malook) - Masuma Anwar, Sahir Ali & Anupam Amod. Sufi song. No wait, you can hear DJ beats.! I don't know what genre this song belongs to. Masuma Anwar gives a hardcore desi sufi rendition. The co-singers chorus comes with tabla. But electric arrangements dominates. And it goes perfectly smoothly and its haunting. Strange really! Pritam expiriments. But good one!
Luttna (Version 2) - Masuma Anwar, Sahir Ali Bagga & Anupam Amod. Different beats. A bit more soulful arrangements. Singing is the same. But I feel this version's better. Good one!
Jugni - Arif Lohar & Harshdeep Kaur. This one has a bit Pakistani in it. Rock song with  Punjabi-Urdu lyrics and singing is the same way too. Sounds a bit like Falak's songs. A bit too long but grabs your attention with the repeated high pitched loops. Good singing(in a way). Good one!
Main Sharabi - Imran Aziz & Yo Yo Honey Singh. Bonus track. Trance track. Must find its way into discos. Funny lyrics. Coated in modern arrangements. Chorus 'mein sharabi' is addictive again. Good one!

Verdict: Pritam has always done magic with Saif. Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod and now Cocktail. You can find almost every musical ingredient in Cocktail. Fresh, modern, desi, peppy. Pritam has again come up with a heavily loaded album which soul stirring songs.!! Go for it!
